Newsletter – Winter 2021/22

Another busy year completed at Lac Serreire and Badgers Holt.

Despite setbacks with Covid and travel restrictions we were very pleased to re-open Lac Serreire during the summer.  Fished by only 18 anglers this year results were impressive with massive growth rates of the stock and lots of fish caught in the upper 40s.  One group of four anglers even managed to catch 89 carp in a single week, we are very excited to see what 2022 brings!

Over on Badgers Holt the average weight of the stock continues to grow and now exceeds over 45lb. During the winter we completed the time consuming task of identifying some of the known fish and have already identified over 12 different 60s, not bad for a lake of only 2.6 acres.  It is really surprising how many fish avoid capture for several years.

Further improvements to the complex over the year have included;

  • Swim upgrades to both Badgers Holt and Lac Serreire.
  • Purpose built car-parks installed for both lakes.
  • Improved aeration systems for both lakes.
  • A further 77 carp to over 40lb added to Lac Serreire.
  • Further sand and silt removal as well as siltexing on both lakes.
  • Snag and tree removal.
  • Wind channels created.
  • Extensive marginal planting to assist with nitrate control.
  • The addition of a ‘Ladies only’ toilet and shower room.
  • New range of ‘Union Jack’ boilies together with ‘lake Specials’ added for purchase on site as well as Coppens pellet and particle.
  • Further stock added to the on-site tackle shop.
  • Breakfast baguettes available for all lake exclusive 2022 bookings.

Extensive winter feeding continues on both lakes and we look forward to again starting our season during March 2022.

We still have a few 2022 Lac Serreire weeks available and occasionally get cancellations for Badgers Holt so please get in touch if you need more information.

See you soon
